Our First Review!

I am incredibly touched by this, first review of The Power the Yin Oracle Deck by Candy Morrigan.
She recognizes the healingjourney that this deck offers by guiding readers back home into their bodies and into themselves as the source of their power.
Candy shares a bit of her own journey with trauma and disempowerment, recognizing that this deck is an antidote to the codependence, hyper-vigilance and disembodiment that are the hallmarks of trauma survivors.
She cites the seminal books, TheBody Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk and Peter Levine's Waking the Tiger, which are indeed part of my healing arts lineage.
And she takes incredible time noticing and describing the details of the deck, from gorgeous close-ups of D. Yael Bernhard's illustrations, to the journey of the deck through all its sets—portals, practices, realms, guardians, True Yang and home— and culminating at 16:00 with a beautiful reading of the cards set to music.
I couldn't ask for a better review: she gets it!
Thank you Candy, and thank you to all the new supporters here who were inspired by Candy's review!
Stillness

Today, I am getting ready to travel again. I've been moving around a lot these last six months. And as my qigong teacher would say, transitions are a time when we most "leak our qi." We can feel ungrounded, there's a sense that we need to hurry, be on time, attend to a zillion little details.
But today, I woke up feeling soft and quiet. And I was called to this card, Stillness.
Stillness is an exalted state of the Yin.
From the outside, it can look and feel so powerless, so nothing. And yet it is the source from which everything begins.
In the healing world, this state is described as "dynamic stillness."
It asks that we be patient, present, and stay. It asks us to trust (always!) and to allow all the time it needs--that we need.
It can't be forced, although it does take practice to arrive here and be comfortable in this realm.
We can learn: this is the place "before creation."
This is the "gathering place for potency." This is where healing begins and creativity foments.
This is the moment before the seed begins to sprout.

When you are changing/growing/healing and your out-moded identities are falling away, you can feel lost.
You can feel like you are more deeply in your old patterns than ever before—even though you are evolving.
Without your old habits to cling to, you can feel anxious and even terrified.
And yet, the new is coming.
It just hasn’t arrived yet.
How can you know who you are in the “no-longer” and “not-yet” of the Liminal?
You must surrender. Trust. Flow. Be receptive. Open to Guidance.
You must step into thePower of Your Yin.

“And yet, it is a place of Power
And a state of Grace.”
"I am the Divine"

"This is one of those rare paintings that feel like my whole life up until this moment has been leading up to."
That's the text I received from Power of the Yin Oracle Deck illustrator Yael Bernhard when I am the Divine was on her painting table, taking form.
She also said this card and text "instantly made me think of the Shechinah."
I don't know about you, but I had never heard of the Shechinah.
Yael explains: "The Shechinah is a mythical figure in Judaism that is understood as God's feminine counterpart – the earthly bride of the heavenly Creator manifesting as divine presence. The Shechinah dates back to the birth of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) in 13th century northern Israel. Two other images in the deck, Self-Reverence and The Priestess of the Yin are also inspired by this concept. "
Like the Shechinah and the transcendent belief system from which she arises, this card is not about a specific form or figure – it's about the undifferentiated divine – you as an inseparable expression of the Divine.
Maybe that's why Yael felt she was tapping into something larger than herself – something meant to be – when she painted this image.
This card is part of the final set of The Power of the Yin Oracle Deck. It is the culmination of the journey of the deck, along with Home and The Priestess of the Yin.
Yael recommends these two sources to learn more about the Shechinah:
